foodbank.city Spotlights Food Sharing Network for Sharing Surplus Between Nearby Food Banks

Food banks post surplus items to the foodbank.city network so nearby food banks can claim what they need

October 26, 2026 – foodbank.city, the cloud-based food bank management platform, today highlighted its Food Sharing Network feature, part of its Inventory & Donations tools. Food Sharing Network lets food banks post surplus items to the foodbank.city network and let nearby food banks claim what they need.

A food bank can end up with more of some items than it can use, while a food bank nearby is short on those same items. With Food Sharing Network, a food bank posts its surplus items to the foodbank.city network, where nearby food banks can see them.

Nearby food banks then claim the items they need. Surplus moves to where it is useful, which helps reduce waste and fill gaps.

Food Sharing Network is part of foodbank.city's Inventory & Donations tools and, like every tool in the platform's complete feature set, is included with no extra costs.
